Westside 8 Ball League Fee/Payout Structure
There are three types of fees that players and teams are responsible for when participating in the Westside 8 Ball League. These fees include Team Registration Fee, Weekly Dues, and Individual BCA registration. These fees are collected and added to a kitty which then gets paid out at the end of the season. There are a few types of payouts as well. These include 8ball breaks, table runs, secondary table runes, and honor roles, as well as a flat amount per win, and a team payout based on the place you come in. There has been some confusion about fees and payouts, so this document seeks to clarify all issues regarding money and the Westside 8 Ball League.
Fees (This has changed as of the 2026 season):
First, the Team Registration Fee $100. Every team must pay this fee. It is up to the players on the team, specifically the captain, to get this fee paid. This can be split amongst the players however the team sees fit.
Additionally, each week of play a team is responsible for $40 in weekly dues. Again, this can be split up however the team sees fit as long as $40 a week is paid in weekly dues.
Lastly, as our league is a BCA sanctioned league, all players are required to pay the BCA $20 per calendar year. If a player plays on both Tuesday and Wednesday night in the Westside 8 Ball League, they are only responsible for one $20 fee. If a player paid this $20 fee to the BCA through another league they play in, they do not have to pay again.
The BCA charges us for every name that gets written on a score sheet throughout the season. If a player plays 4 or less games at the end of the calendar year, the BCA refunds us in the form of a credit. As such, all subs who’s names are written on a score sheet owe this $20 fee on their first night of play.
On the standings page, each team will have a Dues Owed number which amounts to the number of weeks of play times $40, plus $100 for the registration fee. This number is then subtracted by what is paid each week. This should vastly simplify paying dues.
Payouts:
At the end of the season, the fees are handed out as follows:
$5 for every 8 ball on the break or table run (a table run is defined as a game in which the breaker pockets a ball, and continues to pocket balls until his or her group is all pocketed, and then pockets the 8 ball legally to win without giving his opponent a turn at the table.
$2.00 for every Honor Roll (defined as a player who wins all 4 games on a given night. Winning more than one game via forfeit voids honor roll payment for that night.) and Secondary Table Run.
$2.50 for every win.
Once this money is taken out, along with league expenses (expenses include president, vp, and secretary pay, food for end of season party, website expenses, paper to print scoresheets, etc.) the leftover is divided on a set percentage scale for each place. There are payout scales available for review on the Westside 8 ball website for leagues consisting of as few as 8 teams and as many as 16 teams. If a season ends up with more or less teams, a payout scale will be devised and posted before the half way point of the season.

Fines:
At the end of the season, a team that has not paid their dues in full will be met with one of 3 consequences, compounding each year they are delinquent.
The first such consequence is a designation as a “new team” during the following season. As a reminder, new teams are to pay $80 per week in dues for the first half of the season so that their dues are paid off before the second half begins. The total paid is still the same, but new teams are required to pay in twice as fast to dissuade them from quitting part way through the season.
A second year of delinquent status adds an end of season fine equal to the amount owed, with a cap of $50 so if a team is short $100, $150 is removed from their end of season payout – $100 for the owed dues and $50 for the fine.
A third year, and all following years remove the cap from the fine, so if a team is short $100, $200 is removed from their end of season payout – $100 for the owed dues and $100 for the fine.
It takes an equal number of years to get off the delinquent list as it a team spends on it, so if a team gets to the third rank of penalty, and pay in full on year 4, they are moved to the second rank, etc.
